What the Riders are all about

The Moose Riders are the motorcycle riding activity groups that are organized under the Lodges and State/Provincial Associations overseen by Moose International. The Moose is a Fraternal and service organization founded in 1888. The Moose Rider program is one of the fastest growing, most visible and active programs of the Moose Fraternity. Moose Riders are linked into a nationwide network of over 1,600 Moose Lodges in the North American Continent and are an activity group of the 1 million men and women of the Moose. Moose Lodges are located throughout the United States, Canada and Great Britain. Moose Riders raise funds for Moose Charities, local and national charities and volunteer for community service. Moose Rider events as well as events of the Loyal Order of Moose and Women of the Moose support the operation of Mooseheart Child City & School, a 1,000-acre community for children and teens in need and Moosehaven a 63-acre retirement community for Moose members near Jacksonville, FL. We also help to raise funds and volunteer our time to benefit Scouting, drug awareness, crime prevention, adopt a highway, adopt a park, youth and adult sports leagues, scholarship programs, Toys for Tots, feeding the hungry and disaster relief efforts. The men and Women of the Moose Riders also provide assistance to countless national charities such as MDA, Arthritis Foundation, American Cancer and Heart Associations, St Jude Children’s Cancer Research and veterans’ organizations. All units of the Moose conduct approximately $90 million worth of community service (counting monetary donations and volunteer hours worked) annually. We participate in pledge runs, parades, rallies, overnight rides and hold our own events. The Moose Riders help to sponsor and organize the annual Blessing of the Bikes held on the Mooseheart campus, raising funds for the children of Mooseheart and other worthy children’s charities as well as raising funds for our seniors at Moosehaven. Moose Riders participate in multi-day rallies and our annual “Moose Ride 4 Kids” events. Moose Riders also support riding safety programs like the Rescue Riders, Accident Scene Management, and Road Docs who provide advance medical and logistic support to state and local medical and emergency response agencies in the event of a natural or manmade disaster or emergency situation. These groups help train riders in cardio pulmonary resuscitation, basic first aid technique, radio response, medical support and information gathering skills in advanced, onsite support while waiting for traditional medical responders.
